Google Business Profile Optimization
The single highest-leverage local asset you own, and the one most businesses leave half-finished.
How I approach it
Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees, before your website, and sometimes instead of it. It decides whether you appear in the map pack, and it answers the questions that make someone call. Most profiles are claimed, filled in once, and never touched again.
What’s included
- Claiming and verifying the profile
- Primary and secondary category selection, which drives what you can rank for
- Complete services, attributes, hours and service areas
- Photo and product set-up, geotagged where it helps
- Google Posts and Q&A seeded with the questions customers actually ask
- Review strategy and response templates
Case studies
What This Work Has Produced
Figures from Google Search Console and the Meta Ads API, with the caveats on each page.
Flooring contractor · Westfield, MA
A brand-new flooring contractor, from nothing to the top of the map
No website, no Google Business Profile, no reviews: the #1 Google Maps position for its main service term within 30 days of the domain being registered.
Cleaning services · Carol Stream, IL
129,000 impressions in a local cleaning market
474 clicks from 129,464 impressions in 90 days. The visibility is established, and the ranking work to convert it is the obvious next move.
Questions
Straight Answers
Why is my business not showing up on Google Maps?
The usual causes are an unverified profile, a primary category that does not match what people search for, a service area set too wide, or a duplicate listing competing with the real one. Each is fixable, and category choice is the one that moves the needle most often.
How many reviews do I need to rank in the map pack?
There is no threshold. What matters is being credible relative to the competitors ranking near you: their review count, rating and how recent the reviews are. A steady trickle beats a burst of twenty in one week, which looks inorganic.
Does posting to Google Business Profile actually help?
Posts do not appear to be a strong direct ranking factor, but they occupy space on your profile, answer real questions and give people a reason to click. The benefit is mostly conversion rather than ranking.

What Clients Say
I've hired Luca for multiple projects, and even referred him to friends. He not only delivers projects on time, but he knows both the development and marketing side of things, which is rare. Highly recommend him.
Everyone I've talked to loves the design. We ran a test and it converted at 6.8% after 670 visitors. Not a bad start!
Luca actually sat down with me and explained everything in plain English. No tech jargon, no runaround. I finally have a website I'm proud to show my clients.
