The situation

Where It Started

A regional distributor of professional hardwood-floor finishes selling to contractors. No online store, no way to order outside business hours, and a catalogue that lived in the owner's head. The goal was to put the two flagship finish lines online and let contractors buy there instead of phoning.

What we built

  • A Shopify store from the domain up: catalogue structure, variants, inventory sync, low-stock alerts and manufacturer fulfilment
  • On-page SEO for every product and collection
  • One Meta sales campaign optimized for purchases, using the pixel and the Conversions API
  • A retargeting set and a lookalike test, both switched off once the main campaign outperformed them
  • Recovery of a Google Merchant Center suspension, bringing store policies back into line so Shopping could run alongside social

Reading these numbers properly

  • Revenue is Meta-attributed: Meta counts an order when the buyer clicked an ad in the previous seven days or saw one in the previous day. A store's own ledger will apportion those sales differently.
  • The first months were the expensive ones while the pixel learned. From April the campaign settled at roughly $600–1,200 a month, with a monthly return between 25× and 47× (June dipped just under, at 24.9×).
  • Organic search grew in parallel, so the store is not dependent on the ad budget for its traffic.
